CountDays

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 25 August 2026

100% Local · No Servers · No Tracking

1. Data Collection

CountDays does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. All event data — names, dates, notes, and photos — is stored exclusively on your device using Room (SQLite) and Android DataStore. Nothing is sent to any server.

2. Photos

If you add a photo to a countdown event, the photo path is stored locally on your device. The app does not upload or share photos.

3. Notifications

CountDays uses Android AlarmManager to schedule local notifications for event reminders. These notifications are generated entirely on-device and are not connected to any external service.

4. Home Screen Widget

The home screen widget reads your event data from the local on-device database to display a countdown. No data leaves the device.

5. Permissions

  • POST_NOTIFICATIONS — To show reminder notifications.
  • CAMERA — To let you take a photo for an event (optional).
  • READ_MEDIA_IMAGES — To pick a photo from your gallery (optional).
  • RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED — To reschedule reminders after a device restart.
  • USE_EXACT_ALARM / SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM — To fire reminders at the exact time you set.

6. Third-Party Services

CountDays does not use any analytics, advertising, or third-party SDKs.

7. Children

CountDays does not knowingly collect data from children.

8. Changes

Any changes to this policy will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
